Dentures
We offer both partial and complete dentures:
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are a removable replacement option for people that are missing one or more of their teeth on either the upper or lower jaw. When replacing teeth with a partial denture, the remaining teeth are used to support and stabilize the partial denture. Greater support and retention is achieved when there are more teeth present. A good bone structure will also contribute to a stable, well-supported partial denture. It is important to verify that the remaining support teeth are healthy enough to be used as anchor teeth.
It is possible that additional dental work will be required to restore the remaining teeth so they are healthy enough to predictably support the partial denture.
Complete Dentures
Full dentures are a removable replacement option for people that are missing all of their teeth on either the upper or lower jaw. When replacing all teeth on a jaw, there are no remaining teeth to support the denture; therefore, the denture is supported by the healthy gum tissue and the supporting bone. Greater support and retention is achieved when a patient has thicker more robust bone.
In some patients, the bone will have dwindled away and therefore doesn't provide much support or retention for the denture. In these cases, implant retention or denture adhesive may be required.
